As we visit massage therapy programs across the country, we often hear about the need for more teacher trainings.

In response, we asked Melissa Wheeler, an Advisory Council member for Books of Discovery and Faculty Trainer at National Holistic Institute, to present “Ignite Your Students’ Passion for Palpation” on Friday, November 13th at 11:45 am ET (8:45 am PT) at this year’s online World Massage Conference, which takes place November 12-17, 2009.

We are very excited to be involved in the instructor training process and elated that such a dynamic instructor has offered her expertise. Don’t miss out on this wonderful presentation!

About this Training Session

Palpation is fundamental for a massage therapist. When this vital skill is mastered, it increases a student’s confidence and makes the instructor’s job easier.

In this presentation, educators will learn the importance of palpation in the classroom and beyond, how to present unique ideas for teaching palpatory anatomy to students, address different learning styles through Trail Guide to the Body tools and technology, and use this presentation as a platform for participants to share the exercises or resources that have been successful for them in palpation education.

Go Melissa!

I constantly am amazed at what I learn through my palpatory skills. They inform and guide my work on my clients and lead me to much deeper transformative work with them.
