National Holistic Institute’s mission statement of, “Helping People Have Work They Love” is a community effort. While our staff and faculty strive to see our mission fulfilled everyday in all that we do, employers play a big part in making our mission real.

Rich Lorton, founder of Vision For Enrichment (VFE), is one of those employers. Over the years, in a great way, Rich has lost count of how many NHI students and graduates he’s had the opportunity to work with, several of whom are part of the VFE team today.

The Opportunity to Contribute to Their Growth

Back in 2010 I had the pleasure to work with NHI students from Northern California school at the Wildflower Triathlon. I was the only non-student practitioner besides their supervisor. At the time I had just began my business, Vision For Enrichment (VFE). It was so cool for me to get to see and meet these students, and have the opportunity to contribute to their growth.

Years later, I would not know how many students I would bring into my team and business from NHI. I have had several interns do their hours in my offices since 2013, and have had a handful of those interns transition onto my team, and become VFE therapists. Currently, I have 4 therapists that are from the NHI Studio City Campus, one coming on board in May 2023, and 2 from NHI Ontario Campus.

Forever Thankful for NHI

I really enjoy opening my business to the students from NHI. I recently met Genevieve (Instructor and Student Life & Career Coordinator, NHI Studio City) in person. She works closely with the students, and has been extremely helpful with developing a structure for students, the school and business owners to really bridge these relationships. Genevieve is really great in communicating in all ways to help with any procedures, any events at the school, and letting me know how I can better my abilities to connect more with the school and the students.
