NHI Graduate & Scholarship Winner, Tobi Lessem Featured at the AMTA 2016 National Convention

The AMTA 2016 National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was an outstanding success and ranks as the largest convention in the AMTA history. The AMTA convention is where the massage therapy community advances the profession through continuing education, networking, and sharing the newest products.

Each year key stakeholders in the industry attend the convention to support the annual convention scholarship winner, and this year was no different for NHI graduate, Tobi Lessem.

The 2010 Teacher of the Year Scholarship founded by Melissa Wheeler, an NHI Graduate, Teacher, Massage Therapist and winner of the 2010 Teacher of the Year – awarded by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is sponsored by Performance Health. Tobi received complimentary registration, airfare, and hotel for the National Convention compliments of NHI and generous underwritings from Performance Health. This year Marshall Dahneke, CEO of Performance Health, attended the convention to meet with Tobi and congratulate her on winning the scholarship.

Performance Health had this poster made for Tobi and was displayed at their booth.

“At National Holistic Institute our mission is ‘Helping people have work they love’ and it was so gratifying to be with Tobi at the convention and see her love of massage therapy and community shine through.  She was a fantastic ambassador not only for NHI but for the whole massage therapy industry.

It was also gratifying to once again experience the overwhelming support from many key massage therapy stakeholders such as Performance Health, Massage Warehouse, Massage Therapy Foundation, and AMTA in support of Tobi and this annual scholarship.  We are deeply appreciative of their partnership.” – Tim Veitzer.

Tobi felt fortunate to have this support and experience of attending the convention.

“To All who’ve had great input and support, Thank You very much! The convention was incredible and I wouldn’t have been able to attend were it not for the scholarship and support. NHI is the foundation of everything I do today. Massage Warehouse has been an amazing resource and it takes organizations like Performance Health to encourage the continuing education of our industry.” – Tobi Lessem.

Tobi graduated from both NHI’s Massage Therapy Training Program and the Advanced Neuromuscular Training Program. Tobi owns a thriving Massage Therapy private practice, Wholeself Health in Novato, California, where she works everyday on combining her desire to bring goodness to people with her love of bodywork.
