NHI Instructors, Cynthia Ribeiro and Kirsten Staley on Massage Therapy Podcast, ‘How’s The Pressure?’ – Collaboration vs Referral

Cynthia Ribeiro, NHI’S Advanced NeuroMuscular Therapy (ANMT) Manager & Instructor and this year’s AMTA Teacher of the Year and Kirsten Staley, NHI’s Assistant ANMT Program Manager were on for a second time on ‘How’s The Pressure?’ podcast, hosted by Haley Winter.

In the episode, they discuss the dynamics and difference of “Collaboration and Referral”.

Kirsten provides a distinct difference between the two. She describes that in true collaboration, you’re in communication with not only the client, but any medical practitioners along the client’s path to healing.

However, in referrals, more often than not, massage therapists work in isolation without communication once the client leave’s their practice.

Cynthia and Kirsten make the case why you should work towards true collaboration and why it’s important to continue your medical education in order to help you better asses your clientele and move the massage therapy profession forward.
