We often ask our students and graduates how they found out about NHI. Most of the time, we’ll hear about traditional methods such as being referred by a friend, or seeing an ad on their phone. However, it’s also quite normal to hear something along the lines of, “I didn’t find NHI, NHI found me!”

Shannon Flores is a graduate of our Core Massage Therapy Training Program and Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy (ANMT) Program. According to Shannon, not only did NHI find her, she found a little more of herself at NHI.

I Wanted the Best for Myself

In 2018 I decided to become a Massage Therapist. I wanted the best for myself and to be the best influence for my children. NHI chose me. I had been looking at different schools and while still filling out info for NHI I got a phone call and the rest is history.

I became a NHI student at the Ontario campus. I LOVED the work and found a little more of myself through massage. Having graduated from the Core Program in July of 2019, I learned the basic theories and techniques as well as how to be more confident as a person and a leader.

I Wanted to Offer the Best to My Clientele

Immediately, I  enrolled into the ANMT program. I wanted to gain as much knowledge as I could gain, be the best version I could be and offer the best to my clientele. During my time in the ANMT Program, I grew more as a person and as a Massage Therapist. I finished the ANMT Program at the Santa Ana campus in February of 2020.

The ANMT Program added to my technique as well as my knowledge in helping those in pain and gave me the confidence to help and find the best plan to treat their pain. I feel like the most important take away from the ANMT Program was the knowledge I gained for relieving tension pain and stress in the body. I can use different techniques and work with clients on a one-on-one basis instead of relying on a standard set of movements from a basic massage. Being able to understand what is hurting and make an educated guess as to why there is pain has helped me significantly with my clients.

I’ve Been Able to Help Clients With Pain Relief and Stress Relief

I’ve worked at both a spa and a chiropractic office. In both places, I’ve been able to help clients with pain relief and stress relief with the knowledge I have gained from the ANMT program.

A few months later I got a job at Massage Heights in Chino Hills where I have been for over 2 years. Recently, I was promoted to Lead Massage Therapist. I love what I do and would love nothing more then to teach others to love what they do.

I Felt at Home and Comfortable at NHI

If you’re thinking about coming to NHI, do it!!! If you’re interested in truly helping people, you will learn and gain so much from NHI. The staff care and want the best from their students. I felt at home and comfortable at NHI and I believe I was able to grow so much as a person from my experience there.
